Woman's suicide: Court acquits husband, in-laws
UPDATE: In its order dated 28.02.2020, a Nagpur court acquitted all the accused in the absence of evidence to connect them with the incident of suicide

Nagpur: A 24-year-old woman, married just a year ago, accused her husband and in-laws of torture in a suicide note before hanging herself at her Dindayal Nagar residence on Tuesday evening. The deceased, Harsha Ghonge, was a LLM and a gold medallist.

Police informed that Ghonge, who hails from Akola, had an arranged marriage with Sagar, an employee with Research and Development Centre, Pune. After the marriage, the couple had clashed many time over trivial issues.
The mother of the deceased, Anjali Hirpurkar, told police that Sagar’s parents and a relative started torturing her daughter. On Tuesday morning, Sagar’s parents had gone to Hirpurkar’s Akola residence and complained about Harsha. Sagar and his parents told Hirpurkar that they no longer want to keep Harsha with them.
Hirpurkar came to Ghonge’s residence on Tuesday evening to take Harsha with her but was shocked to find her daughter hanging. The matter was reported to Rana Pratap Nagar police station. On the basis of the suicide note and Hirpurkar’s complaint, police have booked Sagar and his parents for abetment of suicide. Police said the suicide note says that Sagar and his parents had tortured Ghonge, which forced her to end her life.
